How FCBD Helps Children in Hospitals

On May 5th Children who are in hospitals across the US that have signed up with Free Comic Book Day For Children in Hospitals will not only receive a free comic book like the ones handed out at the comic book stores on Free Comic Book Day, but will also receive Fly Like An Eagle Comic , written by John Wilcox. Fly Like An Eagle comic was not just a comic book project under Rise Above Social Issues Foundation but a story designed to be a project for the children who are in hospitals. This 12 page story requires the children to be an inker, colorist and cover artist! The children who find themselves in the hospitals will hopefully feel included in Free Comic book day as well as feeling a sense of normalcy for a day – I do hope Free Comic Book Day For Children in Hospitals will make a difference.

On May 5th Nancy Silberkleit co-CEO of Archie Comics will be at a John Hopkins Children’s Hospital in Florida skyping into other hospitals speaking on How Comic Books are created!!
